This is a Local Food Connect project made posssible by the awsome support of Bundoora Secondary College and Banyule City Council together with funding from the Victorian State Government's Living Local grant program.
Bundoora Secondary College is a specialist Food and Fibre Industry Pathway provider, exposing secondary students to related pathways through practical, immersive experiences.
The school has a range of existing resources to support its agricultural, horticultural and animal husbandry studies and these are about about to get a substantial boost with the introduction of a brand-new Science & Agriculture building.
The new building opens onto a large area that was formerly tennis courts. Local Food Connect is transforming this area into a state-of-the-art learning and growing experience and openning up these wonderful resources to community activity.
Local Food Connect is contributing $250,000 ($50,000 of its own funds, together with $200,000 from the grant) towards the development of demonstration gardens, related essential infrastructure and community programs.
