Join us for our monthly Green Team working bee catch up of volunteers pitching in to help grow food for our community at Food Is Free Inc. Green Space.
No skills necessary, come along and make new friends whilst learning about basic gardening. Our volunteers gather together on the second Saturday of the month 10am - noon and we have a lot of fun together. New members always welcome. No registration necessary, just come along on the day. Stay as long as you like in the two hours, we appreciate any time you can give.
BYO gloves if you prefer, all materials also provided.
Food Is Free Green Space is a purpose-built, 40+ garden bed classroom, for all community members to enjoy, particularly at-risk/marginalised community members. We specialise in accessible, skills and empowerment-based building workshops. Anyone is welcome to pick food from this space at anytime. We also host monthly markets here, first Sunday of the month 11am – noon.
We believe everyone has the right to access fresh nutritious food 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week, which is why our food security platforms (Food Is Free Laneway and Food Is Free Green Space) never close.
