-------------As part of Cardinia Food Movement's Grown at home series, this event is hosted by Orchard End Farm --------------------
Our farm is a multi-enterprise organic farming business. We have a blueberry plantation with 1100 bushes and also grow a number of varieties of garlic. We also run Limousin breeder cattle that are currently crossed with a red Angus bull and are pure grass fed.
We have been certified organic, through NASAA, for a number of years now for our blueberries and garlic.
Topics we will cover during the Garlic workshop include:
• Why garlic?
• Varieties on the farm
• Preparation for planting including location
• Maintenance during growing season including fertilisation, watering, weeding
• Plant & Harvest times
• Curing/Storage
• Lessons learned
Participants will take some organic garlic to plant at home.
Afternoon tea included!
Address details will be provided upon registering for the event
