Join us for a fun and interactive Kids Seed Planting Workshop at the Adelaide Showground Farmers’ Market on Sunday, 17th November, from 11:00 am – 11:45 am. This hands-on session, led by our very own Annemarie Brookman from The Food Forest, will teach kids (with adult supervision) how to plant seeds that attract beneficial insects to your garden!
In this 30-45 minute workshop, children will learn how to plant a special mix of seeds that not only brighten your garden with beautiful flowers but also help to create a healthier environment by attracting the *good bugs*. These beneficial insects—like pollinators and natural pest controllers—are essential for a thriving, sustainable garden.
Annmarie will guide kids through the entire process, showing them how to:
• Plant the right mix of flowering seeds to attract beneficial insects
• Create the best soil conditions to support healthy growth
• Care for and nurture their seedlings at home so they can continue to grow and thrive
Plus, they'll learn how planting these flowers contributes to enhancing urban biodiversity, creating a welcoming habitat for important insects, and making our cities greener and more sustainable.
Spaces are strictly limited to 20 so make sure to secure your spot early! Book below $5 per child. Adult supervision required.
Donations are welcome to support our Kids Corner program, helping us continue to provide educational and fun activities for kids at the market.
Come join us under the market verandah for a creative, hands-on experience that will teach kids the importance of flowers, bugs, and healthy soil.
