Join Cultivating Community for a guided tour of Richmond’s vibrant public housing community gardens on Nov 12.
Start at Lennox Street Community Garden, visit a small communal garden, and finish at Highett Street Community Garden. Along the way, discover diverse plants grown by local residents, reflecting the area’s rich cultural heritage and traditional gardening techniques.
The tour will emphasize the importance of food security, sustainability, and cultural connections, ending with a tasting that showcases how the produce is used in cooking.
Cultivating Community is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to fostering social connection, food security, and environmental sustainability for culturally diverse and low-income communities. We manage community gardens, run cooking and employment programs, and promote lifelong learning.
