As part of the Hume and Whittlesea City Council Teacher Environment Network, come along to explore the ins and outs of sustainable canteens in Australian school settings.
This live online workshop will guide teachers & schools on how they can create a zero-waste canteen. Designed to give participants the knowledge and inspiration to implement change in their school, with practical tools that you can use to show the impact that a sustainable switch can have.
We will cover the following topics in the 1.5 hour online session:
● Why we should aim for zero-waste
● Reducing food waste
● Packaging
● Managing and reducing waste and litter
● Finding a contractor
● Action planning and evaluation
Note, each school is really unique in terms of how the canteen operates, this workshop is
going to be most useful for those who operate as a parent or volunteer run canteen.
However, we will touch on how to find an external contractor.
After registering via Eventbrite, a zoom link will be sent out for the session.
