On the 12th of November, 16 Community Gardens across the Tamar & Meander valleys will throw open their gates and welcome you to explore their sites and delights!
Community gardening is a fabulous reason to get outdoors, meet new people, enjoy the fruits of the earth - and often learn new skills. Want to connect with like-minded people close to where you live? Join a Community Garden. Want to contribute a few hours here and there back to community? Join a Community Garden. Want to encourage your kids to get outdoors and be curious about the natural world? Join a Community Garden. Want to learn how to start on the road to self-sufficiency? Join a Community Garden!
On November 12th, each participating garden is putting its best foot forward and hosting activities to showcase their local flavour. Be it: plant & flower sales, music, BBQ, kids’ activities, games, pizza, mini-workshops, tours and composting demos. There’s sure to be something happening somewhere, that’s sure to interest everyone.
This is a wonderful opportunity to see what is happening at the grassroots level in your local community – visit one, or spend the day visiting them all!
