Thinking Green is a series of free community sustainable living workshops presented by the City of Swan.

Learn all about keeping backyard chickens!

Please note that this is a program for adults and young people aged 12 and over and is an informative presentation. Photographs and videos may be taken of the event.

Do you remember holding the warm egg you collected from under a chicken? The excitement of cooking that egg for breakfast? The reassuring “book book” sound in the chookpen?

Shani Graham from Ecoburbia will cover many aspects of keeping chooks, including local laws, chook housing needs and feeding requirements. She will also cover hatching chicks naturally, common ailments, and the best breed to get.

Thinking Green is a series of free programs hosted across the City’s libraries and community venues! To find out more and see the full list of workshops and talks, visit the City of Swan Libraries website.

In accordance with hygiene requirements, social distancing will be maintained throughout this program and hand sanitizing stations and cleaning products will be available for use.

Please book in as spaces are limited. For all inquiries contact Guildford Public Library on (08) 9207 8880.
