It's on again, the Great Big Tomato Sale Fundraiser for Food Is Free Inc. Over 300 locally grown heirloom tomato seedlings for sale - many varieties to choose from.
Held in conjunction with our monthly markets at Green Space on Sun 6 November, come and choose from stacks of heirloom varieties of tomatoes grown locally by expert green thumb Kris Thomas who has donated over 300 seedlings to us for sale as a fundraiser to help cover our daily operational costs.
In 2021 we sold about 80% and gave 20% away a week after the event in our Laneway. This year we will do the same.
We love that these tomatoes are all grown for local conditions and will make them more indigenous to the region with hundreds appearing in Ballarat backyards. Make sure you save the seeds for next year to keep the purity of the tomatoes localised. And be sure to give some away or pop into our Free Seeds Toolbox for others in our community to enjoy.

Food Is Free Inc. is a community-led not-for-profit benefitting all Ballarat citizens, focusing especially on those experiencing disadvantage, with the purpose of assisting food security education and community inclusion.
