Hello Peninsula Permies!
We have once again been invited to come and visit Down's Community Farm in Seaford!
Henri will give us all a tour of the communal garden and new market garden being developed, as well as share the successes and challenges of running a volunteer program at this scale.
For those looking to get their hands dirty, we will be laying out and preparing some more rows in the market garden area, planting out herbs and flowers in the communal garden, and other maintenance jobs around the site.
Stay for a communal lunch!
If you can, please bring:
- a plate of something to share (not needing refrigeration)
- closed shoes (boots preferably), gloves, hat and your own water (there is no potable water on site)
- any surplus to share
There is an accessible composting toilet on site, and plenty of parking.
This is a fantastic opportunity to check out Down's if you haven't visited before... what the community continue to create here is exceptional - with regeneration, sustainability, resilience and community at its core.
