Yarra Valley ECOSS is a not-for-profit community organisation on a 7.4 hectare former poultry farm, now a permaculture designed farm, at Wesburn.
The ECOSS vision is to promote local food production, earth education, and multicultural living, while building work skills and developing a vibrant, resilient, inclusive, and sustainable community.
The community gardens are tended by volunteers including members of Melba Support Services and Interchange Outer East who work in the garden each week. Produce from the garden is taken home by the volunteers, used in food sold at ECOSS events and donated to two food relief agencies – Oonah Tuckerbag Program and Koha Community Cafe through the Crops for Community Program.
